It all started on April 14th — exactly on my birthday.
A Facebook friend I've never actually met was sitting on a bench in Esbjerg, texting, when an energetic Brazilian named Way.J asked for directions. The conversation developed and lasted three hours. My Facebook friend was so taken by Way.J's story, his energy and personality that he posted on Facebook:
"I'm meeting a musician from Brazil today. He wants to collaborate with someone in Denmark who can sing, "dance"? and -or music"
I replied.
From the first contact there was an intense and lively dialogue. Over the next six days — leading up to April 20th, Way.J’s own birthday — the foundation for a musical collaboration was laid.
We decided to call ourselves Fourteen •20. The name is symbolic of the two dates and the magical window in which our musical world was created.
This is the story of a chance meeting that turned into an unexpected creative connection across continents, cultures, and backgrounds.
